Viceregal Lodge & Botanical Garden

Also known as Rashtrapati Niwas, Viceregal Lodge was set up in 1888 on the Observatory Hills. The majestic building was once formal residence of the British Viceroy Lord Dufferin. It is said that every brick for the building was carried by mules. The massive six storied building is surrounded by botanical garden. Now Rashtrapati Nivas is handed over to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study

Nearest airport is Jubarhati with 25 km. Nearest railway station is Shimla which is connected to Kalka by toy train with 100 km. It is well connected by road transport to Chandigarh, Delhi and other cities.
